Restauranteurs Julian Helsper and Sedi Helsper opened their first restaurant, JJ’s Table and Bar, in the summer of 2020. Navigating the new world of post Covid for the industry, they managed to make JJ’s thrive. In 2023 they decided to open another location, The MacStack Tavern, focusing on a more tavern like atmosphere. With this new location, there was a completed seperate room with a bar already built in that was sitting idle. The plan from there was to take this room and create a tiki bar attached to The MacStack Tavern with the focus on being a speakeasy and tiki bar. They took 6 months of planning and a further 6 months of construction to make the project come to fruition.

Julian attended Purdue University, served 6 years in the Army, and has worked the service industry for over 15 years. Sedi holds a P.H.D in chemical engineering from The University of Toledo and works as an Engineer in the oil refining industry.
